Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Getting my stuff back from my ex-girlfriend
Do I have a standing chance at taking my ex-girlfriend to court to retrieve my belongs that I paid for. (1000 dollar TV) and such. I have the reciept but she said something about community property so now I don't know if its worth a try?

Hello there,
You need to go to the Justice of the Peace for in the area of where you lived with this girl and file a petition against here.
She will be served with notice to appear and she will have to put on a defense and give her side of the story why she thinks she can keep your property.
If you are able to show the property is yours the judge will most likely find in your favor and have her ordered to return your property.
You can hire an attorney to help you or you can go in there and give it your best shot. Most judges at the JP level are going to let you give your side of the story.
Sincerely,
Erick Platten
