Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Surveillance
My question is, can someone hide tape recorders in their home and record other people's conversations without their consent. I recently found out that my ex did just that and neither myself or anyone else involved in the conversations was aware we were being recorded.

Re: Surveillance
Tape recording another person when you are not present or not a party to the conversation is illegal in Texas. It is generally legal if you are present or a party, such as a telephone conversation between you and another person.
