Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Vehicle Certificate of Title
I have a Original Certificate of Title on a vehicle and there are no lien holders listed. When the vehicle disappaered from my driveway I thought it had been stolen. I called to report it stolen but was told there was a repo case # assigned. I also have a letter from a finance company releasing the lien they had on the vehicle. I have checked with the appropriate agencies and there is no lien filed on this vehicle but the company that has it will not release it back to me. What do I do?

Re: Vehicle Certificate of Title
Contact an attorney and discuss taking legal action. The attorney may be able to resolve this with a phone call and a letter.
If the vehicle is paid off (you own it free and clear) then the repo action may be the result of a technical error. If so, you may be entitled to get the vehicle back as well as any damages that you may have suffered as a result of their negligence.
