Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas

ex-fiance hacking into email

I left my fiance for infidelity 8 months ago, but he continues to harrass me. He put spyware on my computer before I moved out gaining access to all my passwords and then I recently found out that he has been forwarding all of the emails from my accounts to his own email account. Is there a law he's breaking by doing this? If so how do I press charges for his breach of privacy and what would the penalty be? He used to be a police officer so he knows the law and stated, ''there's nothing you can do to get me into to trouble''. This is at a long end of ''almostand stretching the law limits'' he has gone to to make my life miserable. Any advice?

Re: ex-fiance hacking into email

This can be a problem, dealing with one who thinks he knows how to get "around" the law. Do you have anything linking him to the software? What about the email account he used? Was it a personal email account or a business email account? If a prosecutor will not initiate charges, you can proceed in a civil case where your burden is less.
