Failure to unsubscribe my email from large MLM company

I get several emails daily from a large deregulated energy mlm compnay I was signed up with over a year ago. I have made several attempts to unsubscribe me from my emails but they keep sending them to me. They are doing the same to other people that I know. Im almost certain it is a ploy for us to get them more customers (money). I have even marked them as spam but they still show up in my inbox. What can I do? Do I have legal recourse? Punitive damages so they do not keep doing this to everbody else? Thanks in advance.

They would probably comply with a lawyers letter, if you simply want them to stop. Litigation is costly and no result is certain.
