Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas

I am in the I.T. field. My boss has his own company and is contract to a company for IT work. There are three of us that work for him as contract (1099). He has given a 30 day notice to the company. He has told us that we signed a no compete clause that we cannot work for that company for 6 months. None of the 3 of us can find a copy of the contract. If he cannot show us the contract we signed, do we have any way out of the no compete clause?

If your boss has a copy of the non-compete agreement, then it depends on the terms of that agreement. You should review it carefully to confirm that the agreement states what your boss is claiming that it states. If the agreement is ambiguous, or if there is no agreement, contact me or another attorney to discuss the situation.
