Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas

Internet Privacy

I used my work email address to open a myspace account. The owner did not have a problem with it. I have left the company, and my previous employer is accessing my myspace account and reading my mail. Is this legal for him to do? I do not have access to that email account any longer and can not close the account with myspace. What, if anything can I do about him accessing my account. He has since changed my password where I can not get into the account.

Re: Internet Privacy

You need to sue your former employer for invasion of privacy and possibly other causes. I can do this, but you'd have to pay for me to get to court if the judge insisted I appear in person or if we actually had to go to trial. This might get resolved without a court appearance; you just never know. Some judges really don't want to allow phone appearances. I can consult if you have an attorney located where the employer is based but they haven't dealt with this type of case before. But take action against this.
