Link Laws

Are there any laws regarding liks to other web sites. These are automotive links, not adult link sites.

Re: Link Laws

Yes, there are laws relating to links. The general concern is whether you are linking to deceive people or you are just referring people to sites. The link should not infer that you are the author or owner of the linked material unless you are. The link should not infer that it is to your company or business if it is to another business. The link should not be designated in a manner intended to divert people from the site indicated to a different one (e.g. you should not say NASCAR merchandise and link it to an unofficial merchandise site). The bottom line is to use fair and honest practices and if you do you should be okay. Fair and honest is determined from the frame of mind of the viewer not the web creator.
