Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas
Posting messages and links on public forums...
I post on several, public, non-passworded internet forums dealing with a hobby in which I participate. I also run a public, non-passworded internet forum dealing with this hobby. Whenever I post on another forum, I include a link to my homepage with has a link to my forums. On one particular forum, the owner will edit my post and remove my link. Recently, the owner has started to replace my link with a link to a file that has the following information:
NOTICE!
There will be no posting of links to sites of non-sponsoring dealers allowed on any of the ########### forums. A non sponsoring dealer is anyone that does not pay to advertise on the ###########.
A ''for profit'' site is any website that sells goods or services for a profit.
Legal action will be taken against repeat offenders.
Does this person have a leg to stand on or is he simply running a bluff? I donot sell any goods or services on my site, but I do have a couple of sponsors that pay me to run a banner for their company. Thanks.

Re: Posting messages and links on public forums...
The "legal action" appears to be a bluff unless it relates to spam postings, but since it is his site, I see no problem with him removing free links to non-paying sites.
