Resale of Software

I simply would like to know if it is legal to resell software which I have purchased. I have a web site and would like to sell software that I have purchased from friends that have no longer use it.

It would be sold like the CD Warehouse sells the used music CD's.

This includes Well know software titles.

In order to resell anything to the public, you need a state resale permit and a federal taxpayer ID number, among other things.
