Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Texas
4th amendment
I was stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint near Sierra Blanca, Texas and was detained for 5 hours after a drug sniffing dog detected marijuana in my car. I contend that my 4th amendment rights were violated because the officer with the dog said nothing to me when I stopped. He just proceeded to walk the dog around my car. Since the sole purpose of this stop was to sniff my car, am I right in thinking that my constitutional rights were violated?
