Disclosure of information
Is the attorney obligated to disclose information if the opposing attorney requests it. Under what regulations and laws must the defense attorney abide by and still be able to protect his client?

We no longer have trial by surprise or ambush, and each side must provide 'discovery' to the other. That means all documents/information relevant to the subject of the litigation.
In becoming involved in a civil suit a party gives up many 'protections' s/he may have had against information being disclosed to the other side because of the discovery doctrine.
Ask your attorney, in writing, to explain the discovery concept to you and what information will be disclosed by its application in your case.
