Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Texas
Forgery to commit fraud
My husband and I were co-owners of an auto dealership. Our tax return was prepared by my sister-in-law, the other owner. My husband asked me to sign the tax return but wouldn't allow me to review the return. I refused. I asked to review the actual filing first. I wasn't comfortable signing because she had prepared our taxes once before, we were audited, and were penalized. Also, I knew she was not reporting our income correctly. Needless to say, he forged my name and sent in the return. I ordered and recvd a cert copy from the I.R.S. proving my signature was forged and as I suspected the income was falsely reported. We have since gone through a yr long divorce. What can I do or who should I contact concerning this issue.
