a roomate changed the locks on the apartment i was living in and removed all of my posessions from the apartment to an undisclosed location and is trying to sell them back to me. i am not on the lease agreement nor are there any contracts allowing for her to use my property as collateral for non payment of rent. do i have a right to have her charged with theft and to sue her for the non return of items?

Re: roomate theft

You might have a civil case. To make a full determination though, an attorney would need to learn ALL of the facts regarding the situation. To determine whether you have a criminal case, you should contact the local police department for advice. If you would like an attorney's opinion, feel free to contact me. nemeclaw dot com.
