Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Texas
Tenant Lease Laws
I have been victim of a rising crime rate in my apartment complex, and would like to break my lease due to this.
What are the laws governing leases and tenents.
Is there an article somewhere that I can enforce to break my lease and seek housing in a lower risk area?

Re: Tenant Lease Laws
Landlords who fail to take all reasonable measures to provide their tenants with a safe, comfortable occupancy free from undue outside influences which the landlord can control have created a 'constructive eviction' under landlord/tenant law. Check with a local lawyer for more specifics about your rights in such circumstances.
