Legal Question in Construction Law in Texas
I recently signed a proposal with a contractor for a new roof on my house and am waiting for the work to be done. Can I cancel this proposal and have someone else do this job?
1 Answer from Attorneys
Dear Roofing Customer: Yes you can cancel, however, your roofing contractor may demand payment for his time in estimating and for something called "mobilization" -hiring help and preparing tools and equipment to do the work, as well as ordering materials for which he will be charged a 10% retirn penalty by his supplier.
Consult a local Attorney ASAP, before you make a costly mistake. Good luck!
Sincerely,
J. Norman Stark
