Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
24- month replacement warranty
I bought a microwave from a retailer
with cash and purchased the
available 24-month replacement
warranty. The unit totally quit
working after one year, one month,
and 3 days. Upon contacting the
store and relating the issue, I was
told that since I had an open account
for a big screen t.v. with them that
had a past due balance, they could
not honor the agreement I
purchased until the account was
brought current. This appears to me
as two mutually exclusive
transactions (one in installments and
one totally separate 1-day cash
purchase). Do I have a valid point or
am I another victim of amibiguous
store policy? Please help!!
