Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
accident caused by repair shop
I left my van at a repair shop in the morning time and it was involved in that same evening. Apparently aparttime employee (teenager) took the key to my van, while driving it to pick up parts (not for my vehicle)was involved in a three car accident. The shop denied responsibility for the accidents. My carrier totaled my vehicle and paid $5,000.00 toward a balance of 12,000.00, therefore I have a balance to pay. Now the insurance carriers from the other drivers are suing me and they indicated they can do this legally. Am I responsible for damages caused by this teenager employed at the time by the shop? My carrier refused to pay for damages to the other vehicles.

Re: accident caused by repair shop
It may cost you money but you need to hire counsel. The parents of the teenager are also responsible as well as the shop.
