Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Auto Accident
I was at a stop light and a wreck happened in front of me. The man then backed into my car and was saying I did it. I got the ticket even though I argued about it. He is claiming personal injury for an accident I did not do. I am really scared and feel this is unfair since my car was stopped and he caused the accident. The cops said since we moved the cars evidence suggests my car hit him since it is my word against his. My car was not damaged at all. Just my license plate where he backed into me. The two cars in front of me substained the damage where he ran into the back of another guy and then backed into me. I will contest the ticket. Should I get a lawyer? What is the worst case scenerio?
