Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Automobile Deposit Not Being Refunded after Verbal Agreement!
While viewing a car dealers inventory, a car caught my eye.
I called the dealer and found that the car is also on Ebay. The salesman said that if I submit a $500.00 deposit via PayPal that he would hold the car so I can come look at it. I asked on several occasions before submitting the deposit, that if for any reason I decided not the purchase the car that I would be given a full refund of the deposit. I was assured over and over by the salesman that I would have no problem obtaining my refund. I obliged, and sent the deposit.
Due to certain circumstances we decided not to purchase the vehicle. Now the dealer is refusing to refund my deposit. I did not sign any paperwork, this transaction was a verbal agreement. I spoke with a manager, and was hung up on. When I called back, the salesman answered and said the manager does not want to speak with me.
What actions can I take? This certainly cannot be legal.
Best Regards,
LDH

Contact PayPal and explain the situation. If done soon enough, they can reverse the charge.
