Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Bad Check

A store accepted one of my checks from someone. It had the store name and amount only written on it. No date, no ID, no signature.

The store and check verification company both say it is not their problem, even after notifying them and they will continue accepting these checks. The told me to charge the person giving the check with forgery.

Given that there is no signature can I charge forgery? If not then what?

Does the store or check verification company bear any responsibility?

Re: Bad Check

Notify your bank that the check is improper and to dishonor it. The store is on the hook for the money.

Let your bank know with 65 days of receiving the statement showing the forged check.
