Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Bait and switch

I was in the process of buying a car from a dealership. We picked it out, setteled on a price and signed a purchase order with the agreed apon price. This was faxed to the credit union we are with. The loan papers are filled out and almost signed when we get a call saying that the price was wronge and it will be another $800. We liked the car and said we would consider it. One minute later they called back and said they wrote the wronge vin on the P.O. and we should look somewhere else for a car. When I said I still wanted it, the salesman started crying. My question, Do they have to honor the P.O. sent to the bank listing in detail the price of the car and signed by both the salesman and my wife? Is this a leagle agreement.
