Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Canceling a service
Recently i was called at work and asked to join a magazine subcripton, and i agreed. I have recieved the invoice in the mail, and it is saying that i will be paying $720 dollars in total. i did not realize i would be paying that much. They are saying that i cannot cancel the subscription. that i have to pay the money. Is this true. Am i bound to this?

Re: Canceling a service
You got taken.
Cancel the order by email, fax, mail and certified mail.
Every magazine that shows up, return to sender.
Re: Canceling a service
Based on what you have stated and without more case specific facts, you should send a subscription notice via certified mail/registered return receipt to the sender. If the magazine publisher continues to send you the publications, you should return the copies. As for being responsible for the outstanding balance, you probably need to contact a local law firm to assist with protecting your rights and interests. If my law firm can assist you with this legal matter or any other legal issue, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]).
