Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Car Repair Question
I took my transmission to a ''professional mechanic'' for repair. The transmission was not shifting properly, and it was leaking fluid after the repair, also, my ''check engine'' light was on (not on prior to repair of the transmission). The mechanic is refusing to address the problem related to the check engine light, and suggusted that I take it to be serviced elsewhere. Is he obligated to fix the problem related to the check engine light? The light was not on prior to bring the vehicle in for repair.

Re: Car Repair Question
If he can't fix it; he is not obligated to work on it further. He might be responsible for the cost of further repairs if you can get him to pay for it.
