Car repo'd 7 years ago... now, being sued for non-payment
I purchased a car in 1995 and it was repossessed in 1995. I just received a letter from a different comanpy stating that I owed them over $8000 on the car. If they have the vehicle and sold it, why do I owe them money?? Aren't there time limitations on filing suit?

The car was sold at auction to the highest bidder. If the amount paid was less than what remained on the loan, then you are responsible for the difference. You signed a contract to pay an amount for the vehicle. Just because it has been repo'd does not cancel the contract. You owe the difference. There may be a statute of limitations issue.
