Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

car sales

I found a car listed at 6000.00 under sticker price and took a print out of the car/vin/and price with me. I was told by two sales persons that the manager had said he would honor the price. Two hours later after taking the car home to show my wife he came out and said he could not sell me the car at that price. First, he tried to low ball my trade in. When I said I would sell my car myself he finaly said he meant he would honor the price with my trade in. Even though they did not know what my trade in was the first time I was told he would honor the price. Is is legal for them to lie over and over again and waist my time...???

Not good business, but not illegal.

Re: car sales

You can complain about their business practices at ripoffreport.com and other sites but make sure you are very accurate on the facts. This will drive them nuts but you won't be able to take it down. So forget about the car if you do this.

Re: car sales

Sounds like a bait & switch. Report it to the Consumer Protection Div. of the AG's office.
