Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Car salesman misquoted price and reneged at last second
Salesman called me stating he had a vehicle he wanted to sell me. I went to the dealership and test drove the vehicle. My fiance was with me and is a witness to all. During the test drive we discussed the price and came to a price of $14,000. I was to bring my current vehicle up to the dealership to have it appraised for trade-in the following morning. I drop my vehicle off and proceed to work where I would wait on their phone call. Salesman calls me and says we are ready to go. ''Come down and sign the sales papers.'' I get down there and he then tells me that they cant sell the vehicle at that price. It is too low. We had a verbal agreement. Is there a way I can make them sell me the vehicle at the original negotiated price?
Thanks
Nathan

Did you get anything in writing? You may have a claim on the basis of the DTPA (Deceptive Trade Practices Act), but you may get another dealer to sell you a car at a reasonable price easier.
