changing terms of contract

about 3 months ago i bought a car. i gave my trade in (wich they paid off) and signed a contract. I kept going back to get my plates and they kept saying that they couldnt find any one to finance me but would just keep looking for me not to worry. 3 months and about 15000 miles later they call and tell me that I have to put 1100dlls down or in 10 days theyll repo the car. That i cant get my trade-in back because they bought it out. So my only two choices is give them all that money or theyll take back the car put it on my credit as repo. they wont give me back my car either way. what do i do? Oh and if i agree i have to go in and sign another contract.can they do this?

The first thing I would do is call the Consumer Fraud Division of the State's Attorney General's Office, and report this. It's a nasty piece of business called "de-horsing" in the car trade.

Without seeing the actual document you signed, I couldn't tell you whether what they're doing is legal or not.
