Claim
Can a retirement fund administrator or the company they represent force you to sign an 'agreement of indemnity' before paying a claim/benefit that is owed?

Possibly. It depends upon the claim or benefit and the language of indemnification. There's a big difference between an ERISA claim and a patent disclosure.
