Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
contract termenation
My 7 year old son was enrolled in a Taekwondo School here in our town of Denton TX. The school has moved to a neighboring town, which has become an inconvient drive for me. Upon requesting termination of our yearly contract due to the new drive the owner and instructor of the school said we would be subject to a $175.00 early termination fee. Is this possible if he is the one who moved his business to a neighboring town?

Re: contract termenation
Unless your contract with them permits them to relocate, you shouldn't pay an early termination fee. They changed the arrangement and not you. They probably are simply taking this approach in hopes that most people won't challenge them.
