Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
counterclaim response deadline
What is my response deadline for
a countercalim filed with request for Discovery, admissions, & First request for Production.
When I filed the original petion with Discovery request, they had 50 days to respond.
This is in a District Court, Galveston county, TX

Re: counterclaim response deadline
If I recall correctly, the law presumes a general denial to a counterclaim, so there's no specific deadline for response. However, as a practical matter, you don't want to delay on special exceptions, affirmative defenses, or defenses requiring a sworn denial.
