Dealership Red Tag Special pricing error

While visiting a Automobile dealership yesterday, we found a vehicle with a ''Red Tag Special'' tag placed underneath the windshield wiper. It was an excellent price reduction and we immediately found a representative to assist us. His question was ''If I can get you this deal will you drive the vehicle home tonight?'' We quickly replied YES. Once we drove the vehicle and the salesman had taken our vehicle to check the trade in value he returned to tell us that his boss had made an error on the price and they would have to increase the price by $10,000.00. Since the vehicle was tagged at the lower price is the dealership legally obligated to sell us the vehicle at the originally tagged price? What can we do?

You can buy the vehicle at the higher price and then sue the dealership for a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices/Consumer Protection Act, or you can report the switch to the Consumer Fraud division of the Attorney General's office.

Or you can sue to try and force the sale, spend a fair amount of money, and risk a loss after a year when the dealership shows that it was a mistake.
