Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Demand Letter
When my daughter got married in October 2005, we had a contract with a turnkey wedding facility. Included in the total cost stated in the contract was the cost of 1-3 videotapes on either VHS or DVD of the wedding itself. Since that time, we have been trying to get the video from the facility, but they cannot find it. When asked what our next step was since they didn't meet their contractual obligations, we were told by them to contact an attorney. A friend of my daughter, who is an attorney, told us to draft a Demand Letter giving them the option of providing the video tapes or a refund comparable to the cost of a professional videotaping. However, I cannot find a sample of what that demand letter should look like. Can you provide me with a sample to use?

Re: Demand Letter
Try:
"Dear Sir, you charged us $___ including videoptaping the ceremony. You haven't given us the tapes. Either refund $______ as the cost of the videotaping, or find and send us the tapes."
It's not more complicated than that.
