Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

dtpa cases and legal fees

If I hire an attorney to handle my case on a contingency basis, how much of the total settlement am I entitled to after court costs and fees? In other words, am I entitled to only the original amount we sue for or do I get a straight percentage of the total if we win after court costs and filing fees are paid?

The contingency contract should be clear and you should ask your attorney....our contracts give us a percentage of all collected plus our costs...and rarely do we receive what we ask for our clients...as we ask for more than we think the Jury will award...
