Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

False Adertising

We recently registered in a paintball tournament that was advertised for ''rookie'' players only. It cost $500 for a team of three. When there we discovered that many of the players were not rookies and were ''sandbagging'' just to get wins under their belts. Is it the responsibility of the paintball establishment to make sure the players registered actually are rookies. I would like to get my money back as I feel we were grossly misled.

Re: False Adertising

If the tournament is advertised "for rookies only" then it's up to the tournament operators to make sure that it is "rookies only". But as to getting your money back, if you participated in the tournament then you received some value. You may be entitled to some rebate, but how much will be very hard to determine.
