Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
fraudulent car sale
About 8 months ago I purchased a car from a used car lot. I know somebody that works for the police department and they recently ran my plates and VIN # so just out of curiosity since a lot of several things about that car lot seem fishy. It turns out that my car is not registered and has never been registered before. What should I do? What can I do?

Re: fraudulent car sale
You'll have to dig a little deeper to find out whether you've bought a stolen vehicle. You should demand the title from the car lot. If they can't or won't produce within two weeks, file with the Motor Vehicle Commission against the dealer's bond.
