Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Gas Lease
We are members of a Gas Holdout group who has an agreement with Chesapeake to lease our mineral rights. The offer was $27,200 per acre. This agreement was made in May of this year. We learned yesterday that they are lowering their offer for those of us in the group who have not signed our leases yet. The new offer is $5000/acre. It is taking the leasing agent, PFM LLC, this long to sign everyone and now they are saying that we are not receiving the bonus money agreed upon. Is there anything legally that we can do about this or are we just out of luck?
