Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

If i give my credit card# to a company with inquirying about a product that i might be interested and my bind to that product to purchase it? I was interested in buying an automotive engine but the engine was not going to be ready until a couple of days. I never told the represenative of the company that i was going to purchase the engine. The following morning i inform the same rep if the product had been ready or ship already- the rep said "no". I informed the rep i will callback in hour becasue i am having a finacial problem. The rep said "ok don't worry about it ". I later called back informing to disregard. The rep adv i have already purchased the engine- i informed that i never authorized payment. My credit card has not been charged ; engine has not been prepaired for use and the product has not been shipped. The company is located in Texas. The rep said that he was going to sue me .. please let me know somthing

1. You should check your credit card account on line every day to see if these folks went ahead and charged your account anyway.

2. Don't worry about being sued. I'd bet you $20 they won't sue you.

3. Don't talk to these people anymore; if someone calls you, tell him he must communicate with you IN WRITING; then give him your address and HANG UP.

4. Start keeping records of your contacts with these people. If they call you, make a note: "April 26, 5:44 pm: Someone calling himself Ralph called, asked about shipment, I told him to write me a paper letter, gave him my address, told him not to phone me again, hung up immediately."
