On the usual Telecommunications contracts with local providers they have a condition in them that states that the agreement will auto renew for a specific length of time, one or two years etc. Is this binding?

Re: Ever Green Contracts
They are usually binding. Depending upon the language of the contract, you may be able to terminate early, provided you follow exactly what's required to terminate the contract.
