Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Hotel Charges
I had a hotel receipt for $110.39, but on my bank statement it showed a charge of $270.37. They claimed that because of my dog getting out of the room, 2 people asked for refunds which were charged to my credit card. Can a hotel do this without notifying me and not claiming it on my receipt??

Re: Hotel Charges
I am not aware of any provision that would allow such a charge. You should contest the charge with your credit card company, and if that is not successful, file a claim in small claims court.
