Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Impersonationg a police officer
A company I personally contracted with in VA called my employer in TX posing as a police officer and told my employer that I had some equipment that needed to be returned and that I needed to call the detective back asap. They left the number for the company. The equipment I had did not have anything to do with my company or my work. They impersonated a police officer over an interstate phone call. If I want to file charges, do I do it in Texas or Virginia? If I want to sue, do I do it in Texas or Virginia?

Re: Impersonationg a police officer
You can report this to the local police, the FBI and you can try suing them where the person they called was located. The act of calling to there and making the misrepresentations should qualify the state/federal courts to have jurisdiction over them.
