Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Incompleted Work
I contracted a man to do some cabinet work and remodeling for me, so far I have paid him $2640.00. The work was started over 30 days ago, and none of it has been completed. What can I do legally.

Re: Incompleted Work
What does your contract say? What timetable was agreed to? What payment schedule was agreed to?
What was the money you paid to be used for or credited against?
Have you spoken with him to find out what's holding up the work? If he won't speak to you, then write to him by certified mail, asking him to either return your money or complete the job.
Allow a reasonable time for completion, and ask that he present either a schedule for completion or your money within ten days. If he does neither, you can sue him in Small Claims.
