Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
mattress return
I returned a defective mattress set and they are telling me they can't take a return, I have to come in and select another mattress. I do not want to do business with them. I am now getting a bill from the finance company because the store will not return the money to them. Do I have to get another mattress from them? What do I do about getting the bill from affecting my credit?

Re: mattress return
First, until you get a resolution, you need to pay the finance company - a third party, but note that each payment is disputed. Make sure that the finance company is copied on all communications with the store.
Next, go back to the store and get documentation of any posted signs or advertisements regarding their warranty or return policy.
Read your invoices, contracts and financing statements.
What did they warranty? What did they promise?
If they have violated any of the above, sue them.
