Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
I microwaved a steamable frozen bag of spinach. After a few bites, I noticed something dark and furry in the bowl. Upon closer examination, I realized it was a rodent. I photographed it and froze all contents. I immediately called the company and explained what happened. Their representative offered me $100 and sent some packaging material so I could mail them the rat. I declined her offer and she immediately asked if I was attorney-represented. I replied, "No." She said if I wanted to accept the offer I could call her back. I've called two law firms and have not had any feedback. It's been 48 hours and the company keeps calling me. I have not spoken to them since. Do I have a case? What should I do next? Contact media? FDA? Attorney? I don't want to return the rat to the company because they could easily say it was lost in transit.
