Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Mother over charged.
75 year old mother had 40 gallon hotwater tank replaced and paid a bill of 991.00. I saw the invoice and proceeded to get two estimates from local competitors that came in 360.00 dollars less and within 4.00 of each other. I contacted original installer inquiring if charges were calculated correctly and the company stood their ground on their charges. There is no agency overseeing/regulating price gouging and I was wondering if I could inform local citizens by email of what I found. No lies, just the facts and mention all the companies names I talked to. I know the money is gone and 360.00 dollars won't break the bank for me but others citizens might have a problem and unknowingly pay the high price like my mother did.

Stick to the facts. An outfit that will gouge an elderly person deserves to be disclosed.
