Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Hi,
A moving company in Houston is suing us. We have yet to be served but we were notified by a Houston bankruptcy attorney with the case number.
In August, we moved and were quoted $4,000 and upon arrival, they immediately started changing the terms and pricing. We were quoted for $600 for 100 boxes and only used 88 and were charged $2400 and it just goes up from there. By the end, they were claiming we owed them $7800. We paid $5500 and they are suing for the difference. The foreman on the job admitted that this happened over 50% of the time and he ended up quitting. The reviews online also confirm this happening more times than not. In fact, there is a case of the corruption of this company on TMZ and peoples things have been 100% stolen. This company is extremely dishonest!
Since we are in Austin and the case is in Houston, we would like to have a motion to change venue from Houston to Austin as a deterrent. How do I do this and how much does it cost? We are hoping to find an affordable way to do this. We are under a time crunch!

Call a local attorney. You can't change venue probably but if u did , the result would be the same. Based upon the facts, u may have a counterclaim. But a local attorney may accept the case, answer and counterclaim.....unfortunately the other activities would not be evidence unless u succeeded in suing gthem..who u claim is in bankruptcy??
