Non refundable deposit

In September I gave a $1,500.00 deposit for a trip in January. I am no longer making the trip. I was told the deposit was non refundable when I asked for a credit for the deposit against my credit card. I was never told by anyone at any time that this deposit was non refundable. The information sheet about the trip I received only stated a deposit was required, never stated anywhere it was non refundable. Can I get my money back?

That's a 'maybe'. You can bring a suit against them in Small Claims for a refund. Or you can call your credit card company, if the cruise is not what they originally purported it to be, and object to the charge.

Are you certain there are no other documents that might let you know that the deposit was not refundable?
