Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

''Non-Cancellation Policies''

I ordered some magazines over the phone while at work. I am only supposed to pay for the shipping and handling charges costing $2.70 per week but end up paying $29.90 a month for 24 months. After figuring out the total on these magazines, I decided this is too much. I sent my reply on the invoice to cancel this subscription. I received a phone call from a man saying that it is a non-cancellation policy. He said if I refused to pay, then I would have to pay it all at once the legal way. I don't want to keep the magazines. I have just received one and plan on returning it through the post office. Is there really a thing called a ''non-cancellation'' policy? If I return all of them, will I still have to pay?

Re: ''Non-Cancellation Policies''

I'm not sure. You should probably look carefully at the contract and any fine print involved. You may want to contact an attorney and have someone look over it for or with you.
