Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

Do i owe the Dealership Money after the fact?

I bought a car. My trade was apprazed and examined. The apprazel was for 3K over the payoff. This was still not a lot. The car that I was trading it for had not been at the dealership for 2 weeks and it came in on a Sat. I was financing through a personal bank and had to wait until Mon. On Monday my truck clutch went out. The dealer said try to get it fixed and then bring it to us in the next few days. They closed the deal on the car without the truck being there. All papers are signed and final at my credit union. The dealership is now saying that i have to pay an extra $1100 for them to fix the truck after all the papers are signed and done. The apprazel and all were final. I signed off on the title and everything. Do I have to give them the money? I was not expecting the bill to be so high and I did try to have it fixed. What do I do?

Read your contract. That is what applies in your case. If you did not commit fraud then you could win.

If all the paperwork was signed before the clutch went out, just tell the dealer that he bought the truck as is, where is, with all faults and no warranties. Just like he'd do if he sold you a second-hand truck.

But if the papers were signed after the clutch went out, and you didn't tell him at the time, then you're on the hook for repairs.
