Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Paying for food not received
We put down deposits on a place for my daughter to have her wedding. She cancelled 2 weeks before the wedding was to take place. We paid for the rental on the facility, which we thought was only right. Now they want us to pay for the food that they never ordered plus tax. I don't have a problem with paying for the food if we would have gotten it, but not only do they not have the food but never even ordered it.

Re: Paying for food not received
Simple solution -- don't pay for it. send them a letter with your check for the hall explaining your reason for not paying. Keep a copy in case you ever hear from them again.
